I have been given a wonderful opportunity to get to know some really great people through a program initiated by our studio that we called the "EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION GALLERY". We work in tandem with selected departments within the CoxHealth system where employees are honored for their customer service and Partners Spirit. As we enter our third quarter I am amazed at the response. Starting with two departments in July, I meet four employees from Surgery and Sterile Processing, and another four in October. We are just now gearing up for sessions this Saturday that are slated for January 1st. Yes, it's January 1st as I write this. The holidays got the best of us and forced me to put a plan of action into place for the upcoming months to help me stay on target. We have three new departments coming on board, Radiology, Acute Care Therapy, and The Martin Center for the April 2009 quarter. Congratulations...I can't wait to work with all of you. It has been a real pleasure to get to know each and every one involved in this project, from administration to the employees themselves. I would like to take a quick moment and say thank you to Rita Gurian for looking at this 'bright idea' and seeing merit and promise in it. My hope is to build moral through employees getting to know one another better. Every life has a story to tell and I wanted our studio to be a part of that. This blog is just another means to an that end and I hope you enjoy getting to know each employee as much as I have.
The first employee I met with was Jane. She has been at CoxHealth for seven years and works in surgery waiting. If I could use one word to describe Jane, it would be dedication.

Next I met Koni. She is an RN in surgery and has been there for almost 2 years. Koni brought her grandson to the park and we had a great time playing.

From there I visited Marsha. She is a surgical technologist has been with CoxHealth for nine years. She travels with her husband on their Harley, which unfortunately we didn't get a chance to photograph. But I did meet her dog....a very large Chow.

Susan was next; she has been an Tech IV in sterile processing for the past 16 years. Sweet and soft spoken would describe this lady. I meet Susan, along with her mother and dog - Bubba, at Sequota park.
The second quarter, which was Oct 2008, we started again, and I meet four more employees.
Okay, well what can I say about Ashley? Tiny little blond with a big gun. When I found out she hunts with her dad I had to get her get involved. Ashley is a control desk secretary in OR. She always has a smile on her face. Her sweet spirit shines through in the images below.
Durith is a RN and is involved in neuro surgery. She has been with CoxHealth for 6 years. I visited her at her house, met her husband, her parents, and her two dogs. One of which they said you could never get a picture of. He hates cameras. Well if you have a really big lens the dog won't even know your invading his space, and whoala - pictures of the un-photographable dog.
Bill is a C.R.C.S.T. Tech IV. He has been in sterile processing for 9 1/2 years. He considers himself a lucky man to have found his profession and be married to a wonderful lady and also be blessed with a beautiful daughter.

Regina. Oh my, this was fun. And cold! I don't know how we did it, but we somehow picked the coldest day on record in September to photograph her and her family. Once all the nieces and nephews showed up, we started playing had a blast. You can tell she loves her family and these kids adore her.
I am currently editing the images for the 1st quarter of 2009. I'll get them posted for you real soon so stay tuned.
